In 2020, Californians will have the chance to restore more than $11 billion of funding back to our schools and communities every year!
Thanks to a hard-working army of volunteers and community organizations, the state-wide effort to collect more than 900,000 signatures was successful. That means a measure to bring billions of dollars annually back into California’s schools, community colleges, health clinics, parks and other neigborhood services will be on the ballot in 2020.
For the last 40 years, billionaires and major corporations have raked in the money that once funded California’s schools and community services by exploiting a disastrous tax loophole. The impact has been devastating. Our public education system used to be the best in the nation – now it is ranked among the worst. But now, in 2020, we can reverse that downward trend and restore desperately-needed funding.
