At Working Partnerships USA, building community and collaboration are our superpowers. As a core partner in the Rescue Our Medical Care Coalition, we brought together a diverse coalition of local organizations, health advocates, medical professionals, patients, and residents to take on corporate power over a year-long campaign to fight the closure of trauma, stroke and STEMI services at Regional Medical Center (RMC). Our coalition did not just preserve these critical services—our win to secure Santa Clara County’s commitment to purchase RMC is strengthening our community’s voices and weakening the grip of profit-driven decisions about our healthcare.

Despite nearly a million in corporate opposition, our communities showed up in full force to elect progressive leaders who will protect workers’ rights, support immigrant communities, create affordable housing, and implement compassionate public safety solutions.

Tthe road ahead won’t be easy, but at Working Partnerships USA, we’re committed to building a future where everyone in Santa Clara County thrives—no matter their race, gender, occupation, or immigration status.

We are facing real threats from the incoming federal administration. They will make the way much harder, but we will continue to build power and mobilize our communities. This past weekend, we joined a growing coalition of local community-based organizations including HERO Tent, Working Partnerships USA, SOMOS Mayfair, LUNA, SIREN, Teatro Visión, and Amigos De Guadalupe, bringing the community together for discussions of strategy, healing, and organizing.

As we come together to process the changes happening all across the country, we are reminded of the power of strengthening our local solidarity, investing in grassroots leadership, and building a roadmap for our region’s future. We discussed topics ranging from resisting surveillance and defending workers’ rights to creating community through art and music—this was just the beginning. The fight to protect our communities and build a future rooted in justice continues, and it only grows stronger with YOU. 💪

Let’s keep the momentum going, and stay tuned for what’s next. Together, we will rise.

🧠 Mental health services are essential for everyone in Santa Clara County to thrive and lead fulfilling lives. For their role in deepening our county's mental health crisis, HCA must take immediate action to put patients over profits.

Join us this Monday, November 18, at Good Samaritan Hospital as we rally to demand:
✔️ The full restoration of mental health services at Good Samaritan Hospital
✔️ The creation of a patient protection fund to safeguard our care

Then, on Tuesday, November 19, make your voice heard at San José City Hall! Let the City Council know we need to stand up to HCA and push for real solutions to our mental health crisis.

From advocates to impacted families, our voices united for a single purpose: ensuring every person has access to the care they need. This is about doing what's right for our county during a deepening mental health crisis, and our fight is far from over. We’re committed to fighting for accessible, equitable healthcare that can't be made vulnerable by a single corporation.

Join us on November 18th for a rally in front of Good Samaritan Hospital, and on the 19th during the San José City Council Meeting. We need action, not empty promises. When mental health services disappear, it’s our families, friends, and neighbors who suffer.

Their divestment from essential services at Regional Medical Center and Good Samaritan has severely impacted healthcare access for Santa Clara County. It’s time for HCA to take responsibility and meet with community members to discuss how they can support our health rather than undermine it.

We’re calling for the full restoration of mental health services at Good Samaritan and the creation of a patient protection fund to prevent further cuts to critical care. Together, we can make sure HCA’s priorities reflect our community’s needs. Stand with us and let’s show that our health comes first! 💪
