Our community thrives on inclusivity, respect, and acceptance—and as San José residents, we strive to foster a city where our children can be themselves, learn without fear, and grow free from discrimination.

Join us in front of City Hall tomorrow, September 20 at 11:30 am as we stand in solidarity for a more inclusive San José. We're also asking you to share your voice during the Rules Committee Meeting at 2:00 pm and help spread the word about our commitment to a better future for all.

Now is our moment to rise as one, to give our children and our friends in the LGBTQIA+ community the support they deserve. Together, we can ensure that our city remains a beacon of love, acceptance, and learning, no matter who you are.

It's Hot Labor Summer and we know one thing for sure — Power is At the Root!

This Labor Day we're proud to be part of a powerful resurgence of power, with 55 worker-led actions happening across the country—the highest tally since 1946. Regardless of backgrounds, job titles, or neighborhoods, our common mission unites us: a fair wage, affordable housing, and a secure tomorrow.

Today, we celebrate every worker — on picket lines, at town halls, and in direct actions are tirelessly championing the needs of working families in our region, and every supporter who rises up, speaks up, and fights for a more just Santa Clara County. Happy Labor Day!

We hold an enormous amount of gratitude and love for our 2023 Champions: Community Leader Chava Bustamante, @google's Global Head of Real Estate Alexa Arena, and Enrique Fernandez with @unitehere International and @unitehere19. Our Champions embody the strong and impactful leadership that is crucial in trying times. Their courage and determination continue to inspire us.

We’re honored to have hosted our special Guest Speaker, D. Taylor, who reminded us that we can dream the impossible and let the work make our ideals a reality. We’re also grateful for Assemblymember @ash_kalra, who emceed our program, and kept us on point, in power, and on time.

Everyone involved in this year's Champions for Change has reminded us that no matter what we’re fighting for, no matter the strength of our opposition, our job—our north star—is to center the needs of working families. That is how we win a just and equitable world and how we rewrite the rules so everyone who lives in this country can flourish.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate this year's Champions for Change! This #HotLaborSummer event was truly elevated by the efforts and presence of our supporters, allies, and friends.

We were inspired by the words of dedicated leaders, connected with the people behind the campaigns and victories, and gained new friends and collaborators to work for a shared vision in building a Silicon Valley where everyone can thrive.

This event would not have been possible without the impeccable service of the @hayesmansion food and beverage team, members of @unitehere19, the stage and sound technicians who orchestrated a seamless program, and the performances by @goldenturtlelda and @relativekey which made the night all the more memorable.

💸California lost about $70 BILLION in revenue last year because of corporate tax breaks.
📉Today we have a $30 BILLION budget deficit.

=That means wealthy corporations need to pay their fair share in taxes!

There is no reason CA's government has a $30 BILLION deficit when we are home to the MOST billionaires in the country. Corporations got their tax break under Trump and now it's time for policies that make sure they pay their fair share in taxes.

Our government is responsible to the people, not corporations. CA can and should be doing more for millions of hardworking Californians who are struggling with paying bills and rent during a housing crisis and difficult economic recovery #FundOurFutures

Congratulations to our second 2023 cohort for completing the classroom phase of the Trades Orientation Program (TOP)!

Last week, our graduates received certificates that prove their qualifications and skills. From here, our students will look for jobs in their preferred building and construction trade apprenticeships.
