We’re committed to an inclusive and equitable future of work where workers from Black and Indigenous communities, and other communities of color and their communities thrive.
Through coalition building and leadership development, we aim to build a regional movement for a racially and economically just future of work, and to combat the damage to workers’ rights and economic welfare of our communities by a handful of giant corporations, especially technology and app-based corporations. We do this by building the bargaining power of workers and community in sectors where global economic shifts, climate emergency, demographic shifts and technological changes are impacting hard-won workers’ rights, such as the app-based (or ‘gig’) economy, and offering new opportunities for workforce development and shared prosperity like in the green infrastructure economy,

Essential Workers Council
The needs and voices of working people are essential to solving the biggest issues we face. Together with our partners in the labor and workers’ rights movement, we’re bringing together leaders who represent thousands of working people in the South Bay to win critical rights such as hazard pay, protective gear, and emergency paid sick days, and set the agenda for our recovery and our future.
